Hey everyone! I hope studying is going well. I saw the MATH 103 exam and I believe you all will do fine, it's simple enough if you've studied.

There was a request for an explanation of dividing fractions using the diagrams, so I've made a tutorial to watch, go check it out on the Tutorials page!

There wasn't enough interest in holding office hours tonight so I didn't reserve a room, but for those who did request office hours I will be available through the internet via email or skype to answer questions. These web office hours will be held from 5pm-6:30pm.

Good luck on day one of your exams!

Thanks goes out to the person in 117 who attended office hours tonight, I enjoy working with the students and not sitting there doing nothing :)

Exam prep information:
  • If there's enough interest, then I will hold office hours on Monday night in preparation for the first part of the exam on Tuesday. Please fill out the anonymous Interest Poll.
  • I have flashcards from last semester available. If you are unfamiliar with Flashcardmachine, then I suggest you watch this video (I apologize, the format of the website has changed slightly from last semester).
  • If you have any questions, please email me at serwy1@illinois.edu. If I am unable to answer your question via email, I will try to make a video tutorial and post it to the Tutorials section.

Hello everyone!

In addition to tutoring for MATH 103, I will also be providing help in preparation for the Basic Skills Test (any section). Also, I know Kathleen Smith has also recommended the students for MATH 117 to attend my office hours as well. Both math courses use the same textbook, so I will be able to address any questions you may have. Of course, if you attend office hours please bring any supporting material (e.g. labs, quizzes, etc.) since I do not have copies of those.

I will be stopping by the MATH 103 labs tomorrow and on Friday in order to introduce myself. I hope that you take advantage of all the opportunities available to help you succeed as a student, educator, and lifelong learner.

Office Hours 02/15/2011

I'm excited to offer office hours again this semester. I am sorry that I am unable to introduce myself in lecture since I have observation and my methods course during your class time, but please don't hesitate to ask me for help or attend office hours.

If you have any questions, feel free to email me at serwy1@illinois.edu
